Adds options for inserting multimedia-style CSS visual filters and JavaScript-enabled transitions.


  • Adds menus for inserting multimedia-style CSS visual filters and JavaScript-enabled transitions.


  • Visual filters that can change the way objects are displayed, including alpha, basicImage, blur, chroma, dropShadow, emboss, engrave, glow, gradient, motionBlur, pixelate, shadow and wave.
  • Transitions that can produce animated effects, including barn, blinds, checkerboard, fade, gradient wipe, inset, iris, pixelate, radial wipe, random bars, random dissolve, slide, spiral, stretch, strips, wheel and zigzag.


  • To use a filter: place the cursor inside a style properties block (for example, <style type="text/css"> img { | } </style>) or inside a style attribute (for example, <img src="test.gif" style=" | " />), and select an item from the filters drop-down menu.
  • To add a transition animation: pick an item from the transitions drop-down menu.


  • The code snippets are optimized for Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher.

How do I install miCSSFilters?

  • Download the "miCSSFilters" plugin and save it to a folder of your choice (for example, c:\webfiles\). It's not necessary to manually extract the *.zip file, HTML-Kit will expand it to the proper folder during the installation.
  •  Install Plugin
    Select "Install | Install Plugin" from HTML-Kit's "Tools" menu. Point to the downloaded *.zip file and click "Open."
  • If any additional prompts appear, follow them to complete the installation.

miCSSFilters's icon will appear on the "CSS Filters" tab on HTML-Kit's Actions Bar. It can also be invoked from the "Actions | CSS Filters" sub menu.

Whats' the quickest way to uninstall miCSSFilters?

Right click the miCSSFilters icon on the Actions Bar and select "Uninstall." Alternatively, the "Tools | Install | Uninstall Plugins" menu option in HTML-Kit can be used to uninstall this and other plugins.

Do I need the exact versions of software listed under the Requirements?

The versions listed are the minimum versions required by this plugin. For example, a plugin that requires HTML-Kit Build 290 will run on HTML-Kit Build 292 as well.
