Adds options for creating links using alphanumeric characters in the selected text.

Features:

Adds options for creating links using the selected text.
Links and link IDs are constructed using the basic alpha (a-z, A-Z) and numeric (0-9) characters in the selected text. For example, if the text "year 2005 report" is selected, "year_2005_report" is constructed for the link. Non-alphanumeric characters are replaced with '_' characters. If the very first character is a numeric character, it's replaced with a '_' character.
Ability to shorten or condense non-alphanumeric characters that are grouped together. For example, "report : year 2005" can be used to construct "report___year_2005" (long version) or "report_year_2005" (shortened version).
Includes options for inserting <a href="_">text</a>, <a name="_">text</a>, <a id="_">text</a>, <a id="_" name="_">text</a>, <a href="_" id="_">text</a> and <a href="#_">text</a> [new in v0.91].
Internal option for converting link URLs and IDs to lowercase by default [new in v0.92].
Settings under "Edit | Preferences | Format" can be used to change the case of tags and attributes, as well as the type of quotes in the inserted link.
Supports the right click menu.

Notes:

Rearranged menu options to list href-related items first [new in v0.91].

Usage:

To create a text link: select the text that should be linked and click the plugin icon, or pick an option from the plugin drop-down menu.
To create a link using the right click menu: right click the selected text and pick an option from the Text Link menu.

How do I install hkTextLink?

Download the "hkTextLink" plugin and save it to a folder of your choice (for example, c:\webfiles\). It's not necessary to manually extract the *.zip file, HTML-Kit will expand it to the proper folder during the installation.
Select "Install | Install Plugin" from HTML-Kit's "Tools" menu. Point to the downloaded *.zip file and click "Open."
If any additional prompts appear, follow them to complete the installation.

How do I run it?

Objects

hkTextLink's icon will appear on the "Objects" tab on HTML-Kit's Actions Bar. It can also be invoked from the "Actions | Objects" sub menu.

Which programming language was used to write it?

hkTextLink was written in hkScript. More plugins written in hkScript can be found on the Plugins page.

Whats' the quickest way to uninstall hkTextLink?

Right click the hkTextLink icon on the Actions Bar and select "Uninstall." Alternatively, the "Tools | Install | Uninstall Plugins" menu option in HTML-Kit can be used to uninstall this and other plugins.

Do I need the exact versions of software listed under the Requirements?

The versions listed are the minimum versions required by this plugin. For example, a plugin that requires HTML-Kit Build 290 will run on HTML-Kit Build 292 as well.

What's the best way to check which version of HTML-Kit I'm using?

The build number can be found on the "About" dialog, which is located on HTML-Kit's "Help" menu.
